CommuterCam Test

Posted by James on November 11th, 2007 filed in commuting

I ride my bicycle to work every day that I can. I ride from Ride Hook, Brooklyn to Times Square in Manhattan. Sometimes my ride feels like a video game, and although watching others play video games is about as interesting as watching someone stare longingly at their bicycle, perhaps mounting a camera on my bike and filming my escapades on the streets of the big apple might be interesting.

Unlike most people I’ve read about, I mounted my camera to the frame of the bike, instead of the handlebars. I’m thinking there will be less side to side stutter if I do this. I still needed to smooth out the video using iStabilize. (That is why ‘DEMO’ is plastered over the video, I haven’t bought the software yet). I also sped up the video a bit, because real time was a bit boring.

Look for more CommuterCam messages in the coming weeks. (Assuming I don’t destroy my camera before then)

it’s important that cyclists follow the rules of the road, which include stopping at stop signs. zooming through an intersection is very dangerous.
