Handmade wool cycling caps anyone?
Posted by Kelly on November 19th, 2007 filed in GearA few months ago, I was at NYC Velo and picked up a really nice handmade wool cycling cap. I loved it and wore it everyday. Then I went to out for dinner/drinks with my loud drunk friends and left it in the restaurant. It’s a local place so I thought I’d have a chance of getting it back–no such luck. Cap-less and sad I began my quest. Velo only had about 4 or 5 left when I picked mine up and I wasn’t sure if they’d still have them, so I looked online first. What I knew was: hand-made in San Francisco. Apparently, that is all you need to know because I found them. The brand is Chueys and the caps are sweet. They don’t have an online store, but I think you can contact them through the Flickr page and arrange something. Before I did that I made a quick trip back to Velo on Saturday in hopes that they might still have some in stock. The shelf was bare, but they had just received a shipment in that morning! So after they entered them into inventory I was able to have my pick of the litter. I got a real nice charcoal grey one. I still wish I hadn’t lost my green and black hounds-tooth one, but I think this one will work out just fine.
PS. We’re still under construction. Please pardon our appearance.
