Want a Cadence Meter? Don’t want to shell out $$$?

I bought Kelly a very nice Polar Cadence Computer for Christmas. It’s been 8 months of trying to figure out a painfully asinine UI* and wrestling with a temperamental cadence sensor. And you would think for $170, it would be brilliant to use and attempt to work with our Macs. Alas, neither is true.

I might have been better of using these instructions for converting a $12 WalMart cyclo-computer into a cadence meter. A rather ingenious idea. I wish I thought of it.

*(I should tell you that I strive to design usable computer interfaces at my day job, so I’m qualified to say that the interface on the Polar is sub-par)
