Summer Streets Are Here!

Beginning Aug 9 (today) and for two additional Saturdays (16 & 23) the city will be closing down Park Ave and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park (7am - 1pm only). This should be an interesting experiment. I really hope it works and will be continued and expanded. It would be fantastic to be able to ride from Brooklyn to Central Park without the fear of being run down by a cyclist hating driver. My main concern of Summer Streets is it becoming a street fair with thousands of people just milling about eating funnel cakes. I hope that you will still be able to ride/run/roller blade etc without problems. Only time will tell.
